I have found that there are six themes that most of the country songs fit into. The themes are love, breaking up, drinking, patriotism, religion, and country living. Each of the themes is rather broad but that is the beauty of a theme. It allows most of the country songs out today to be classified, but does not mean that there are not songs that do not fit into the categories.
